Systems Engineering Co-op
We are currently seeking students for co-op positions in our System Engineering team (R&D department). The system engineering co-op position gives engineering students the opportunity to gain hands on industry experience at Werfen
This position offers the opportunity to support research activities for new product development projects. The student will get a chance to learn about blood banking technology and work on the following tasks:
Testing and optimization of prototype system for assay development. The prototype system has software and hardware components and offers an opportunity to delve into understanding of prototype development based on standard operating procedures. An interested candidate must possesses the ability to develop an understanding of the system functionality and work with concepts from mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering principles.
Assist in development, processing and analysis of various assays as developed by Immucor research team. This activity provides the interested candidates an opportunity to understand the developing blood banking platform and contribute to innovation.
Assist in fabrication, testing and optimization of prototypes to process reagents used for assay development. This activity provides the candidate an insight into the basics of samples preparation for an assay and the various tools/technology that are used to develop the prototype system.
Additionally, this role provides an opportunity to learn and understand concepts of scientific verification and validation as applied to blood banking testing environment.
